The second half of 2021 will be the time for Microsoft to release the new perpetual license edition of the suite. It seems that some companies will say good bye to Microsoft 2019 and prepare themselves to try Microsoft 2022 (the expected name for this edition, who knows?).

Microsoft is preparing to replace the monthly subscription by a life-long subscription with limited functionality; Microsoft won’t require you to pay for a subscription.

Microsoft published a blog about this announcment, but they only include one line about the software "Microsoft Office will also see a new perpetual release for both Windows and Mac, in the second half of 2021."

Microsoft didn’t announce any details about the new version and all what we know is that a new version of Microsoft is on its way, but time will tell, won't it?!
