Migration from On Premises to Microsoft Azure

Customer: ITQAN Capital ITQAN Capital

Issue:

The client was experiencing connectivity issues along with high maintenance and testing costs.

Solution:

After careful planning, we built a new AD on Azure and then established site to site connectivity VPN using Azure VPN Gateway. We migrated on-premises firewall and server images from on-premises Hyper-V to Azure by uploading the VHDs and converting them to images. In order to ensure 24/7 server availability, we enabled Backup As A Service for the servers. We also implemented Geo Redundant Storage capabilities to ensure  99.9% availability from Microsoft and the 99% SLA.

Key benefits:

  • Reduced TCO and testing costs.
  • Providing high availability for the servers from Microsoft.
  • Backup as a Service in order to make sure data is always available.
  • Scalability and Flexibility for the Oracle ERP in times of pressure,
  • The ability to change low usage virtual machine sizes at any time.

Challenges:

We faced numerous challenges because the Oracle ERP System and Lazerfiche were running on legacy windows server 2003, and users were operating on an old domain as well. And they wanted to move to their own domain, so a new AD needed to be built and connected to the New server after reaching windows Server 2012 Version.
