Exciting News! Microsoft Copilot has just rolled out some fantastic new features to make your life easier. These features help you manage data better, communicate more easily, and keep your information safe. In this article, we’ll explore these updates and show you how they can improve your daily tasks.
We all know that a strong community is the key to success when it comes to adopting new tools. Microsoft gets that, which is why they've introduced a special Copilot adoption community within Viva Engage. This community is all about supporting the adoption of Microsoft 365 Copilot, and it's there to help!
This feature is a total breakthrough for organizations looking to drive Copilot adoption! There’s so much that can be achieved through open communication between your organizations.
Network admins and corporate communicators can now create a Viva Engage community specifically designed to support Microsoft 365 Copilot users. This community is a great place for users to ask questions, share best practices, and get help from their peers and IT admins. It’s a friendly, collaborative space where everyone can learn and grow together, making sure that all users can get the most out of Copilot in their daily tasks.

We all know that data-driven decision-making is at the heart of modern business practices. Well, we have some great news for you! The Microsoft Copilot Dashboard has just become even more accessible. We think you'll be amazed!
Before, you needed a Viva Insights premium license to access this powerful tool. But now, with the latest update, it’s included in the standard Copilot for Microsoft 365 licenses.
This is great news for organisations with over 100 assigned Copilot licenses or 10 premium Viva Insights licenses, who can now use the Copilot Dashboard to gain greater visibility into Copilot adoption and its impact.
The dashboard now gives all Copilot license holders access to comprehensive data, making it easier to track and manage Copilot usage across the organization. Plus, admin controls have been streamlined, so it’s simpler to manage and customize the dashboard to fit specific needs.
Data security is super important, and Microsoft is making it even better with new IT controls in SharePoint Advanced Management.
Even though Copilot and Search are designed to show content only to people who have permission, there’s still a risk of sharing sensitive data by mistake.
The latest update adds more IT controls, helping content owners and creators manage and protect their data better. This includes new reports that help find SharePoint sites with too much shared or sensitive content.
Admins can now set and apply security and compliance policies more easily. Plus, the new site access review features let SharePoint admins check for potential oversharing. They can ask site owners to review permissions, making sure only the right people have access to important data.
These features, which are expected to be released in August, are a big step forward in preventing oversharing and keeping data safe.
Microsoft is making it easier for everyone to use Copilot with a new feature called Copilot Lab. This cool addition gives you ready-made prompts that you can use right away in Microsoft 365 apps like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. All you have to do is click to run these prompts and turn your ideas into reality. Copilot Lab is rolling out this month, making AI-powered productivity even more accessible and fun!
In Excel, Copilot has new features to help you explore and understand your data. You can now preview changes before applying them. Copilot also supports complex conditional formatting, so you can highlight data based on multiple criteria. For example, you can ask it to highlight rows where 'priority' is 'critical' and 'status' is not 'done'. Plus, you can now summarize column data into a single cell. These updates make Excel an even more powerful tool for data analysis.
Microsoft Copilot helps you write and organize emails in Outlook. "Draft by Copilot" feature helps you draft emails faster by using AI to generate responses based on the email you're reading. This saves time and keeps your communications consistent and professional.
Copilot now helps you summarise documents in Copilot in Word. You can summarise documents with up to 80,000 words, making it easier to turn lots of information into clear, actionable insights. These updates, which came out in July, help you manage large documents more efficiently.
Microsoft is focusing on education with new features in Copilot for Forms. Copilot makes it easy to create quizzes with correct answers based on your inputs. This is great for educators and trainers who want to assess knowledge. Quizzes are quick to create and engage students and trainees.
Microsoft is adding Copilot to the Viva Amplify Editor to help you create and improve content. Copilot helps you with all kinds of writing. Copilot helps you create clear, effective, and engaging messages.
The latest updates to Microsoft Copilot show Microsoft’s dedication to boosting productivity, security, and user experience across its tools. Whether you want to build a supportive community, manage data securely, or use AI to simplify tasks, these new features have you covered. As these updates roll out, it’s clear that Microsoft Copilot is becoming an essential helper in the digital workplace, helping you work smarter, not harder.
